Reflect A Li’l With Me

The most interesting topic from this week that I enjoyed learning about was terminals because I have always seen little boxes like that on television and in movies, never knowing what they really were. What I like most about Terminal is the control it gives you over how you organize your folders, which makes working on your laptop more comfortable and suitable for you. Plus, the layout of the terminal makes it feel like a secret language. One thing I found challenging about learning Terminals is understanding how the entered code translates onto the desktop.

The following are the steps: below will show how to open and create a folder using the terminal on Mac:

  • Click Command+Space and type in terminal
  • Click “ terminal.app” to open it up
  • Type cd and the location in the directory where you want the folder (e.g. desktop)
  • Directly underneath, input mkdir to input the name of your folder

Boom! A new folder in the directory
